Chef Peter Bastians — born in Sri Lanka and Red Seal–trained — opened the first Taste of Sri Lanka in Winnipeg in the early 1990s. Alongside his family, the brand grew to multiple Winnipeg locations, with a food truck appearing at major events around the city. Its current home is the Seasons Outlet Collection at 635 Sterling Lyon Pkwy, Unit 2 — in southwest Winnipeg, directly across from IKEA.
